Black Friday Shopping Review

Dogs, Love and Black Friday Shopping 2008

Dogs at the outlet stores on Black Friday. One thing I noticed on this trip to the Desert Hills Premium Outlets mall from the trips I made ten years ago is that the forging language most heard has changed from Japanese to Chinese. While chatting to a dog owner from China he mentioned how Americans seem to care so much for their dogs. To get some idea why Americans hold dogs in such high esteem watch to the end of this video.

In these tough economic times of recession many people get caught up in longing for luxuries that in the long run just aren’t that important. To learn what I think makes a good Christmas watch to the end of this dog video.

Dogs at the outlet stores on Black Friday

At the outlet store in Cabazon California I faithfully fulfilled my boyfriend obligations as I heroically faced the massive army of shoppers on Black Friday. It took us over and hour or driving through the parking lot to find a place for our petrol eating twenty-first century tin lizy. The silver lining to this story is that I discovered a great opportunity to study human and dog bonding on Black Friday. The dogs I observed ranged from a diminutive Chihuahua

to a rather hefty Great Dane.

But most of the dogs out on Black Friday were smallish dogs that could be easily picked up if need be.

All the dogs seemed to be fairly well socialized.
However one dog, I believe it was a cocker spaniel, did have a problem with the giant critters that were part human, part great four legged beast. But even this involved just a little barking and it was quickly brought under control.

While many of the Black Friday dogs were wearing clothes no one I talked with had bought anything at the outlet shops for their dogs.

With so many people I did not notice any adverse reaction from the hoards of foreign shoppers.
Often when I work a training dog in front of foreign supermarket I get some very negative reactions from those who are not from a western culture. This makes me extra considerate and aware of who is approached when out with the dogs. But it’s through that icon of western culture, the pampered pet that we can all learn how to better understand other cultures.

Overall, it was a good day of chatting with dog owners

and seeing people save a lot of money on overpriced status symbols.

I wonder which brings greater happiness a name brand handbag or the love of a tail wagging best friend?

As always I am wishing you the best in dog training and in life,
