Board and Train kennel training programs are available for When your dog goes to boarding school for its training it will be living at the trainer's home. I always think of this like a homestay where the student is immersed in a new culture and environment to more quickly learn new social skill. With people that skill is often a new language, with dogs it's usually good manners. In fact our core Board and Train program is called Good Manners For Pets.
Our alternative to the boarding kennel is like going on a learning vacation to develop basic social skills and manners. Going on an education vacation is a growing and learning experience for your best friend just as it would be for any student. During your dog's stay, there will be many field trips into the community to test your pet's new social skills and good behavior under distracting circumstances.
A board and train program is ideal for people who can't train their dog's at home, either because of time or physical limitations. This program can be an effective way to solve many types of problem behaviors. Next time your dog needs a mentally engaging vacation, enroll him/her in our behavior changing home away from home.
To insure that the canine student will respond to you, a behavior counselor will teach you how to continue your pet's education when it returns home. This commitment to life long reinforcement and continued education will maintain your pet's good behavior for the rest of its life. As part of this program you will also receive instructions on how to improve your best friend's house manners and problem-solving consultation.
All
dogs entering the board and train / kennel training programs must be current
on all their shots -- DHLP, Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies. A certificate
or photocopy is required for Rabies.
There will be an additional charge of $35 a day for feeding raw meat foods
For the four week board and train / kennel training program there is usually free pick up of the canine student in most of our service area.
| I now require a pre training interview before starting a training program. This will give us a chance to meet and get to know each other. It will also give me a chance to see the dog, and it will give us a chance to discuss any concerns you have about the training program. |
A canine Home-stay program generally last from four to eight weeks. We can also provide shorter training programs if you only need one to three weeks of training.
Homestay
training programs require a non refundable deposit of $300 to hold a place
for your dog.
